Climate Week - What's On?
EMERGE will be at Brazennose House West this week hosting a series of events for Climate Week.
Tuesday is Fareshare day. There is an opportunity to get involved in a cookery demo on Tuesday lunchtime and there will be a chance to find out all about Fareshares activities at 4pm.
We will be offering companies free taster sessions of our Zero Waste consultancy on Wednesday and Thursday.
Friday will see us 'relaunch' EMERGE. Come and join us for some lunch and to find out about the great work the REAL skills team have been doing with volunteers and educating young people about the 3Rs. The unveiling of the vehicles will take place on Albert Square, the other activities will be at Brazennose St.

EMERGE - Volunteers/Models Wanted
From 21-25 March EMERGE 3Rs will be exhibiting our services and inspiring people about the good practice we have been developing on Zero Waste and wider sustainability issues. We need 2-3 volunteers every day to assist with the exhibition and help visitors.
On Tuesday 22 March there will be cookery demonstrations as part of the Love Food Hate Waste campaign and an awareness session about FareShare, a charity which redistributes 'surplus' food to disadvantaged people. We will be teaming up with TRAID, an environmental charity who recycle textiles to fund International Development, to hold a fashion show. We are looking for 12 female volunteers to model the clothing range.
On Friday 25th March there be a celebration event and relaunch of EMERGE’s Services including our new Zero Waste Champions for Greater Manchester project. We need volunteers to help ensure the event goes smoothly.
You must be available for one day or more during Climate Week from 21-25 March. You must be interested in the work of EMERGE 3Rs and be comfortable and confident about talking to members of the public. If you have an interest or experience in event management you could help us organise the event over the coming weeks.
The events will take place at Brazennose House West, Brazennose Street, Manchester, M2 5EP.

This key administrative role within EMERGE’s Business Services team will act as the single point of contact to our 800+ waste management customers and their enquires, provide logistical support to operational personnel and promote EMERGE’s range of products and services.
The post holder will be responsible for the swift resolution of customer queries, processing of orders from quotation through to confirmation and collection of materials, and the maintenance of accurate account information within databases.
We seek a resourceful and adaptable individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to develop and maintain good customer relationships and proven experience delivering customer service to a high level.
Application deadline: 4pm on Tuesday 15th March 2011, interviews will take place on Friday 18th March 2011. This position is permanent subject to a six month probation period.
